Welcome to the NEL LSCB suite of e-learning courses. This learning is being offered in collaboration with the Safeguarding Children e-Academy (www.safeguardingchildrenea.co.uk)
Safeguarding children is everybody’s business and the LSCB is committed to the continuous learning and development of staff and volunteers working with children, young people and families.
This suite of e-learning courses is currently free of charge to all people working with or providing services to children, families and vulnerable adults within North East Lincolnshire.
Private and for profit organisations can purchase the training from the Virtual College website. If four or more licences are being purchased in one transaction, then a discount may be available. In this instance please contact the Sales Team, by calling 01943 885083, or emailing email@example.com . Please quote the promotional code SCBNELINCS, the course you are applying for, and the number of licences you require. You will receive a £5.00 discount per licence on eligible courses on the normal £30.00 per user cost.
During the year 17/18 we will be consulting with partner organisations on the future funding of the Virtual College E learning packages and ongoing development of LSCB face to face training beyond March 2018.
Once you have self-registered for a learner record, you will then be able to request your training from our extensive directory of Safeguarding courses. You will be able to request any of these courses from the Requested Learning Tab on your Learner Record, but you will need to complete each course before selecting a new one.
To help with the selection process we have provided a summary of the course content and target audience for each course here. The courses on offer have been selected to support your on-going development.
Before beginning any of the training courses please ensure you have had a conversation with your line manager regarding the appropriate level of course for you to complete.
How long will the learning take?
Each course takes approximately 1-3 hours to complete with a short test at the end. If you have passed, then you will be able to print a certificate of completion. You do not have to complete the training all at once but can dip in and out of the module at work or at home and the system will monitor your progress.
Once you request your online learning course you have 21 days to complete it. You will be sent a reminder after 2 weeks.
If you do not complete the course within 21 days there will be a charge of £50 for your organisation.
